New Delhi: A series of fire incidents across Delhi on Friday claimed one life and raised safety concerns, prompting police investigations.

The most serious incident occurred in northeast Delhi’s Mustafabad area, where a fire broke out on the ground floor of a four-storey building housing a repair shop. Two brothers were rescued and taken to GTB Hospital, where Junaid (20) was declared brought dead. His elder brother, Sameer (23), sustained injuries and was later discharged after treatment.

The Delhi Fire Services received the emergency call at 6.24 am and rushed five fire tenders to the spot. Police said a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including causing death by negligence and negligent conduct involving fire. An investigation team has been formed to determine the cause of the blaze.

The second fire was reported at around 10.32 am in south Delhi’s Munirka area, where eight electrical meters in a residential building caught fire. Firefighters extinguished the blaze within 10 minutes. No injuries were reported, and officials said the cause was yet to be identified.

A third incident occurred at an e-rickshaw charging station in the Bindapur area of southwest Delhi at around 10.57 am. Two fire tenders were dispatched, and the fire was quickly brought under control, preventing further damage. No casualties were reported in this incident either.

Authorities said investigations are ongoing in all three cases to ascertain the exact causes of the fires and assess any safety lapses.
