A truck driver died after two lorries collided and caught fire near Kalladikode on the Palakkad-Kozhikode National Highway on Thursday.

Palakkad: A truck driver died after two lorries collided and caught fire near Kalladikode on the Palakkad-Kozhikode National Highway on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Nasrudeen, the driver of one of the lorries. The lorry was carrying sawdust meant to be used as feed for domestic animals. The cause of the fire has not been confirmed.
The container lorry driver was also injured in the accident. He said he escaped without serious consequences after getting out of the vehicle quickly.
The collision led to a traffic disruption on the highway, with congestion reported between Mundur and Kalladikode.
Cranes were brought to the spot to remove the damaged vehicles, causing further traffic disruption in the area.
