A chemical storage tank exploded at Kirti Chemicals Industries in Mandya, Karnataka, killing two people and leaving three others seriously injured

Mandya: A chemical storage tank at Kirti Chemicals Industries, near Karekate village in Mandya taluk, exploded while workers were attempting to open its cap with a gas cutter. The blast resulted in the deaths of two individuals, and three others were seriously injured. The injured were immediately transported to Mandya MIMS Hospital for treatment.
Following the accident, several factory workers reportedly fled the scene. Basaralu police officials visited the site to inspect and collect information about the deceased and injured. A formal case has been registered at Basaralu police station, with Mandya SP Dr Shobha Rani confirming the investigation is underway.
