A 25-year-old garment vendor was stabbed to death and another man seriously injured in Delhi’s Gautampuri area after a dispute over a damaged car side mirror spiralled into a violent clash fuelled by old enmity.
A late-night altercation over a damaged car side mirror spiralled into a deadly act of violence in south Delhi, leaving a 25-year-old garment vendor dead and another man seriously injured, police said on Friday.
The incident took place in the Gautampuri area under the jurisdiction of the Badarpur Police Station. According to officials, a PCR call was received around 10 pm on Thursday reporting a stabbing.

Police teams rushed to the location and found a tense scene, with a large crowd gathered and visible bloodstains marking the spot where the violence unfolded.
Preliminary investigations revealed that what began as an argument over a broken car mirror quickly intensified. Officers said the confrontation escalated due to existing hostility between the two groups involved, turning the dispute into a violent assault.
The injured men were identified as Arun, a garment vendor, and Shivam, who works as housekeeping staff at AIIMS. Both had sustained multiple stab wounds and were rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre for emergency medical care.
Despite doctors’ efforts, Arun succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Police said he suffered a fatal stab wound to the gluteal region. Shivam, who was stabbed in the epigastric region, remains hospitalised but is in stable condition and is recovering.
Following the killing, senior officers constituted multiple teams to track down those involved. Several raids were conducted in and around Gautampuri, resulting in the detention of four accused, all locals.
Among them are two 16-year-old juveniles, one of whom is believed to be the main assailant. The other two accused, identified as Amar and Vicky, were formally arrested.
Police disclosed that all four accused are school dropouts, with two currently unemployed. The weapon allegedly used in the attack has also been recovered.
A case has been registered under Sections 103, 109 and 3 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Investigators are continuing to piece together the exact sequence of events and the roles played by each accused in the fatal attack.
