Mumbai: Unidentified assailants allegedly opened fire at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff and his driver in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday.

The actor escaped unharmed, while his driver sustained injuries in the incident, according to media reports.

The incident took place near Pushpa Park under Juhu police station limits in the western suburb, and the chain of events leading to the incident is being pieced together, an official said.

"Shroff is safe and has not sustained any injuries in the firing incident," the official reiterated.

As per preliminary reports, an unidentified individual fired upon the actor and his friend.

A viral video showed an unidentified person opening fire on the actor's car.

However, the circumstances surrounding the incident and the sequence of events remain unclear. Shroff was reportedly returning from a football game when the incident occurred. Police have launched a manhunt to track down the assailants.

The identities of the attackers and the motive behind the alleged attack have not yet been established. A social media post purportedly shared by overseas-based gangsters Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu claimed responsibility for the attack on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Further details, including the condition of the injured persons and any action taken by police, are awaited.
