A young sadhu at the Magh Mela in Prayagraj has become a point of fascination for devotees and visitors alike, claiming to have remained standing on one foot for the past seven years as part of his spiritual discipline.

The 26-year-old ascetic, who hails from Sitamarhi district in Bihar, says he neither sits nor lies down. Instead, he maintains his austere posture by balancing on a single foot, using a wooden cradle for minimal support.

Set against the backdrop of the centuries-old Magh Mela, the sadhu’s striking penance has drawn considerable attention among thousands of saints and pilgrims gathered at the religious congregation.

Traditionally known as a platform where ascetics showcase rare and intense spiritual practices, the Magh Mela continues to highlight such displays of devotion and endurance.

The 44-day religious fair, which began on January 3, will conclude on February 15.
