Shreyanka Patil reveals her depression battle and thoughts of quitting cricket during injury before making a strong comeback.
India Women’s star off-spinner Shreyanka Patil has shared her emotional journey through injury, depression and recovery after returning to international cricket with a strong performance in the Women’s T20 World Cup. The Indian cricketer revealed she struggled mentally during a long injury layoff and even thought about walking away from the sport. Shreyanka spent nearly 14 months out after suffering a fractured finger during the Asia Cup in 2024. Her setbacks continued with severe shin injuries and a fractured thumb before she returned earlier this year through the Women’s Premier League.
