Veteran Malayalam actor Savithri Sreedharan passed away at 85 at her residence on Wednesday due to age-related ailments. Entering amateur theatre at age 16, she built a celebrated four-decade stage career, earning the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Award. Savithri debuted in films in 1991 with M.T. Vasudevan Nair's Kadavu. After a long hiatus, her acclaimed comeback in Sudani from Nigeria (2018) won her the Kerala State Film Award for Best Character Actress and a National Film Award Special Mention.
