Heavy monsoon rain in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, has once again exposed the city's persistent urban flooding and drainage challenges. A single spell of intense rainfall on Sunday was enough to inundate several low-lying neighbourhoods, leaving roads waterlogged, homes flooded, and normal life severely disrupted.

Residents say the flooding occurred despite recent drainage and infrastructure development works. Many allege that the existing drainage network failed to carry away rainwater efficiently.

Locals are now urging civic authorities to implement a permanent solution instead of relying on temporary measures each rainy season. As the monsoon continues, residents hope lasting action will finally end this recurring problem.
