Punjab Police has arrested a 26-year-old man allegedly linked to a firearms and narcotics trafficking network in Amritsar and recovered seven sophisticated pistols along with 2.1 kg of heroin from his possession. The accused, identified as Khush Kumar, alias Bholu, a resident of Gurwali Gate in Amritsar, has a criminal history involving narcotics trade, Arms Act violations, and snatching cases, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said. The recovered weapons include high-end pistols of Turkish, Italian, Austrian, and Chinese origin, including 9mm Gladiator and Zigana X-SHOT pistols.

According to preliminary investigations, the accused was allegedly in contact with a foreign-based smuggler using virtual numbers, while consignments of heroin and weapons were reportedly delivered through drones from across the border. Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said Khush Kumar was arrested during an intelligence-led operation, and sustained interrogation later led to the recovery of the firearms. Police said the weapons were meant to be supplied to criminal elements to facilitate illegal activities. A case has been registered in Amritsar, and further investigations are underway to trace the network’s forward and backward linkages and identify other associates involved in the trafficking module.
