Don’t let phones become your masters, PM Modi tells students at Pariksha Pe Charcha
Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged students to embrace emerging tools like Artificial Intelligence, focus on healthy routines, practise previous years’ question papers, get adequate sleep, and develop clear communication as an essential leadership skill.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday cautioned students against becoming overly dependent on technology, urging them to use it as a tool to enhance their potential rather than allowing it to dominate their lives.
Speaking during the second episode of Pariksha Pe Charcha, the prime minister observed that mobile phones have become “masters” for some children, noting that many are unable to eat food without using their phones or watching television.

“It means that you have become slaves of mobiles. You have to make a firm resolve that you will not let technology enslave you,” Modi said in an interaction with students that took place in Coimbatore, Raipur, Guwahati and Gujarat.
While advising restraint, the prime minister encouraged students not to fear emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence. Instead, he urged them to harness these tools to develop skills and improve their capabilities.
Modi also shared practical tips for exam preparation, stressing the importance of practising previous years’ question papers and ensuring adequate sleep to perform well in examinations.
Reflecting on his own student days, the prime minister recalled the role played by his teachers, particularly their emphasis on regular exercise to maintain good health.
On the subject of leadership, Modi said effective communication was a crucial quality.
“Leadership does not only mean contesting elections. A key leadership quality is the ability to clearly communicate your thoughts to at least ten people,” the prime minister added.
