New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with students during the 9th edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha, addressing questions on technology, career choices, discipline, and the nation’s vision for a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Answering a question on whether AI will replace humans, PM Modi advised students not to fear technology. “Technology has existed in every era. The key is not to become its slave,” he said. He cautioned about mobile phone dependence among children, urging them to use technology as a tool, not let it control their lives.

He emphasised that AI can guide us, but we must add value through our own work. “If you incorporate technology into your work, it will help you. But you cannot surrender your responsibilities entirely to it,” he added.

Startups and passion: Work with your small group, combine interests

PM Modi encouraged students to embrace entrepreneurial spirit, explaining that even a small group of friends can start a startup, including tech-focused ventures. He also addressed balancing passion and studies, suggesting creative approaches like using art to understand scientific concepts or relieve stress. “If you love art but are learning science, use drawings and illustrations to represent experiments and chemical reactions,” he said.

Highlighting India’s long-term vision, he urged students to adopt developed country standards from now, pointing to Singapore’s growth from a small fishing community to a global hub. Simple habits like not littering, not spitting in public, stopping at red lights, and avoiding food waste were cited as essential steps toward a developed India.

PM Modi also stressed the importance of Made in India products. He encouraged students to promote domestic brands and highlighted that India’s rich culture and craftsmanship should be leveraged in celebrations.
