A massive 33-foot-tall and 210-tonne Shiva Lingam has reached Bihar. It is soon going to be installed at the under-construction Virat Ramayan Temple in East Champaran district here.
The enormous Shiva Lingam, which was crafted in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, has travelled almost 2,500 kilometres over the course of 45 days, passing through Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh to reach Gopalganj, Bihar.
The sacred structure is being transported on a specially engineered 96-wheeled vehicle, designed to safely carry its immense weight across states.
With large crowds of devotees gathering at multiple locations whenever the convoy slowed down or halted, they offered prayers.
Bihar Minister Ashok Choudhary was among those who performed prayers upon its arrival.
