The Varanasi Municipal Corporation has launched a heritage revival initiative aimed at restoring the city’s historic identity while enhancing its visual appeal. As part of the project, vintage-style traffic booths and heritage clocks are being installed at prominent intersections across the temple city.

Municipal Commissioner Himanshu Nagpal said the initiative is part of a broader effort to beautify Varanasi and bring back its traditional character. Authorities have identified 30 locations for redevelopment over the next year, focusing on heritage-inspired urban elements and improved public spaces.

Residents have welcomed the move, saying it reflects the cultural essence of Kashi and will strengthen its appeal among tourists.
