Heavy overnight rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district triggered flash floods in Mendhar subdivision, leaving roads submerged, homes damaged, and public infrastructure severely affected. The intense rain, accompanied by strong winds, disrupted normal life as residents woke up to waterlogged streets and widespread destruction across several localities.
Local residents said the heavy downpour caused floodwaters to inundate residential areas, damage roads, and sweep through public spaces. Vehicles were left stranded while several parts of the subdivision remained inaccessible due to rising water levels.
