As Delhi continues to reel under an intense heatwave, cooling centres set up by the Delhi government are offering much-needed relief to residents and travellers alike. One such facility has emerged as a safe resting space for people escaping the scorching summer temperatures.

Equipped with fans, cool drinking water, seating arrangements and refreshments, the centre has become a welcome halt for visitors travelling through the capital. Travellers from states including Kerala, Manipur and Uttar Pradesh praised the initiative, saying the facility provided comfort and relief from Delhi’s extreme heat, which has touched nearly 40 degrees Celsius.

Civil defence personnel stationed at the centre are also distributing ORS sachets, electrolytes, caps and gamchas to help people cope with dehydration and heat stress.

Officials said the response from the public has been highly encouraging, and the cooling centres will continue operating throughout the peak summer season.
