Vejalpur: Heavy rain in Ahmedabad has once again caused severe waterlogging in Vejalpur, flooding streets and homes, disrupting daily life for residents.

Locals claim that rainwater frequently seeps into their houses, interfering with day-to-day activities. They allege that despite repeated complaints, a permanent solution has remained elusive.

Vejalpur MLA Amit Thakkhar said a ₹39-crore drainage pipeline project is underway to tackle the recurring waterlogging, with nearly half the work already completed.

He said authorities are operating pumping systems at full capacity to remove stagnant water before cleaning affected areas. If there is no further heavy rainfall, officials expect the process to be completed within the next two to three days.
