
Thiruvananthapuram: A youth fainted during the screening of the Danish film The Girl with the Needle at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). The incident occurred on Tuesday night, the fourth day of the festival, when a scene depicting an abortion caused the viewer to faint.
The screening, held at the Nishagandhi Auditorium, was paused for around fifteen minutes following the incident. The viewer reportedly had difficulty handling a scene involving excessive bleeding. The youth's health condition was reported as stable, and no further medical issues were noted. The festival continues with other screenings as planned.

Reports of viewers fainting due to certain scenes at IFFK are not new. Similar incidents have been reported in the past as well when intense scenes are screened.
