Sadayam, directed by Sibi Malayil and written by the renowned M T Vasudevan Nair, remains one of the finest examples of Mohanlal’s acting prowess. The film, which tells the poignant story of Sathyanathan, a man on death row for the murder of two young girls and two men, stands out due to Mohanlal’s gripping performance. His portrayal of a man struggling with his guilt and fate is widely considered one of his best works. Sadayam is also regarded as Sibi Malayil's finest directorial effort, showcasing the perfect blend of storytelling and acting.
Mohanlal once talked about his acting method, saying, “I don’t know the grammar of anything. I believe that everything is happening because of some fortune. When being loved as an actor, I am also strongly criticised. I can recognise the productive criticisms. So, I accept them and try to correct myself. But most of them are not coming out of positive thoughts. So I ignore them, remembering Osho’s famous words, ‘I like gossip more than the gospel’.”
