Ambika reacts to the buzz around Trisha and Vijay’s friendship, saying she would stay away from situations that could invite criticism for a close friend.

Veteran actor Ambika has made a pointed remark amid the growing buzz around the friendship between Trisha Krishnan and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, saying that people should be careful about their actions when a close friendship could become the subject of public criticism.
Speaking about Trisha and Vijay’s recent appearance together in England, Ambika said that, if she were in a similar situation, she would choose to stay away from anything that could invite unnecessary criticism for a friend.

Her comments came after Trisha and Vijay were seen together at the Le Mans race at Silverstone on September 12, where actor Ajith Kumar participated with his team. Videos of Trisha and Vijay at the venue subsequently went viral on social media.
Ambika: ‘If we value that friendship, we should be careful’
In an interview with RedPix, Ambika explained how she would handle a similar situation involving a close friend in an influential position.
“If I were in that position, and I knew something I did could bring criticism or give my friend a bad name, I would avoid it. That is my opinion,” she said.
Ambika also said that repeatedly having to defend a friendship can eventually frustrate the people around those involved.
“Otherwise, people also begin to feel disappointed,” she said, referring to a situation where people may question why they have to keep defending two individuals who maintain that they are only friends.
She then added, “So, if we value that friendship, we should also be a little careful about how we conduct ourselves.”
The comments have drawn attention as speculation continues around Trisha and Vijay’s public appearances.
Ambika questions comparisons involving Trisha
Ambika also referred to an earlier interview in which she had spoken about Trisha and the reaction it received.
She recalled someone responding to her comments by asking whether she was referring to “the Trisha of the 1980s”. Ambika questioned the comparison and said she wanted to know who, in that case, would be considered the Vijay of the 1980s.
She also addressed questions about the two being seen in similar outfits and travelling to London, making it clear that her comments were about being mindful of situations that could result in criticism.
Trisha and Vijay’s Le Mans appearance
Trisha and Vijay were seen watching the action from the stands during the Le Mans event at Silverstone. One video showed Trisha leaning forward to get a closer look at what was happening on the track.
Vijay was dressed in jeans, a black T-shirt and a brown jacket, while Trisha wore a maroon leather jacket. She paired it with a white V-neck T-shirt and light-blue high-waisted straight-leg jeans.
Their appearance quickly became a talking point on social media, with multiple videos from the venue circulating online.
