Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and renowned actor Pawan Kalyan has received a rare and prestigious honour in the field of martial arts. He has been officially inducted into Kenjutsu, an ancient Japanese sword-fighting art, earning international recognition for his long-standing dedication and discipline.

Martial arts has been a significant part of Pawan Kalyan’s life alongside his careers in cinema and politics. His training began long before he entered the film industry, with serious practice in karate and other combat disciplines, particularly during his time in Chennai. Beyond physical training, he has also studied Japanese samurai traditions and martial arts philosophy.

This lifelong commitment has now been recognised globally. Pawan Kalyan was awarded the Fifth Dan by the esteemed Japanese organisation Sogo Budo Kanri Kai. In another notable milestone, he became the first Telugu individual to be inducted into the Takeda Shingen Clan under Soke Muramatsu Sensei—a rare honour typically reserved for practitioners in Japan. He was also conferred the title “Tiger of Martial Arts” by the Golden Dragons organisation.
