Set around themes involving hidden treasures, divine powers and ancient legends, Nagabandham is among several large-scale mythological productions scheduled for release in Indian cinema in 2026.

Nagabandham, an upcoming mythological action-adventure film directed by Abhishek Nama, is set for a worldwide theatrical release on July 3 as the project continues to draw attention for its scale and visual ambitions.
Produced by Kishore Annapureddy and Nishitha Nagi Reddy under NIK Studios in association with Abhishek Pictures, the film features Virat Karrna in the lead role alongside Nabha Natesh, Ishwarya Menon, Jagapathi Babu, Mahesh Manjrekar and Rishabh Sawhney.
A recently released poster depicting a tribal sea battle sequence has gained traction online and offered a glimpse into the film’s action-oriented setting. The makers have indicated that the project combines mythology and adventure themes with large-scale action sequences.
The film’s action scenes have been choreographed by Vlad Rimburg, who has worked on international projects. According to the makers, the film includes tribal combat sequences, sea battle episodes and underwater action set pieces.
Post-production work, including visual effects, is currently under way with multiple studios involved in the process. The film is expected to feature settings such as ancient temples, mythical landscapes and large-scale battle sequences.
The project has also secured key distribution and streaming agreements ahead of its release. Zee Studios has acquired theatrical distribution rights for North India, while Amazon Prime Video has reportedly obtained the film’s OTT streaming rights. Telugu satellite rights have been acquired by Star Maa.
