Jeremy Renner, after a near-fatal snowplow accident that left him with 38 broken bones, says he's "more than 150%" recovered and ready to return as Hawkeye

Los Angeles: Hollywood star Jeremy Renner has declared his readiness to reprise his role as the bow-wielding Avenger, Hawkeye, stating his body is "getting ready" for a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This comes after the actor sustained critical injuries in a near-fatal snow plough accident in January 2023.
Renner's horrific incident left him with 38 broken bones, a collapsed lung, and a lacerated liver after being crushed by his snowcat. Despite the extensive injuries, which included eight ribs broken in 14 places, a broken right knee and ankle, a broken left leg tibia and ankle, and a broken right clavicle and shoulder, Renner now claims to be recovered "more than 150 per cent" and feels stronger than ever, crediting his focus on health and wellness. He expressed his readiness for the stunt work typically required for Marvel productions, acknowledging some remaining "issues, tendon issues and certain limitations of flexibility and mobility."

In a recent interview with Empire, Renner affirmed his enthusiasm for continuing in the MCU. "I’m always happy to be in that world, man. I love all those guys, I love the character," he said, adding, "I’m sure we’ll end up doing Season 2 (of ‘Hawkeye’), and do other things. And I’m happy to do it. My body’s getting ready for something like that. I don’t know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights."
However, this isn't the first time Renner has spoken about a potential MCU comeback. In a previous revelation in May, he disclosed that Marvel had approached him for a second season of the "Hawkeye" Disney+ series but had offered him "half" of his salary from the first season. Renner speculated that his severe accident might have played a role in the reduced offer, questioning, "Did you think I’m only half the Jeremy because I got ran over? Maybe that’s why you want to pay me half of what I made on the first season."
