Mumbai: Bollywood’s fashion icon and much-loved actress Sonam Kapoor rang in her 40th birthday on Monday with a stylish celebration, heartfelt wishes, and a guest list packed with familiar filmi faces.
Kareena’s ‘chips and love’ shoutout
BFF Kareena Kapoor Khan took a nostalgic route to wish her “darling Sona.” Sharing a chic throwback photo on Instagram Stories, Bebo wrote:
“Happy Birthday to darling Sona... more art, more love, more chips… big hug @sonamkapoor.”
The snap shows the duo in peak glam mode, posing with effortless poise.

Starry, but intimate birthday vibes
Sonam hosted a private but glitzy birthday party in Mumbai, where close friends and family showed up in style. The birthday girl looked radiant (as always), celebrating the milestone with just the right dose of sparkle.
Kareena, in a vibrant yellow dress, walked in with Saif Ali Khan, making heads turn. Fellow ‘Veere Di Wedding’ co-star Swara Bhasker chose a metallic grey jumpsuit-and-jacket combo, while Karisma Kapoor kept it pretty in a floral blue number.
Also spotted were Arjun Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Karan Johar, the latter bringing his signature flair in grey.
From ‘Saawariya’ to ‘Blind’: Sonam’s journey so far
Sonam made her Bollywood debut in ‘Saawariya’ (2007) and since then has charmed audiences in films like ‘Delhi-6’, ‘Aisha’, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, and ‘Neerja’, where she delivered one of her most critically acclaimed performances.
After becoming mother to son Vayu in 2022, she took a short break from the spotlight. Her most recent appearance was in the 2023 crime thriller ‘Blind’.
