Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar are no strangers to keeping things candid, but their latest appearance on Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi’s show Double Date came with a rather unexpected revelation.

During the episode, Neha brought up what she jokingly called Zaid’s “underarm fetish”, leaving Gauahar visibly surprised. “Where did you get this information from? What all have you seen? Are you in our bedrooms?” she asked Neha.

Zaid was quick to clarify that there was nothing quite like that behind the revelation. “Matlab aisa kuch nahi hai yaar. Mujhe aisa lagta hai ki baby skin, haan, ekdam aise mulayam type (I mean, it’s nothing like that, yaar. I feel baby skin is, you know, really soft and smooth),” he said.

But Gauahar had more to add. According to her, Zaid is particularly fond of how her underarms smell. “He also thinks that my underarms smell fresh all the time, so he wouldn’t care,” she revealed.

Zaid then explained his rather unusual habit, saying, “I wouldn’t do anything; I just touch that. I just touch that, and I smell that.”

Gauahar took the story a step further, revealing that Zaid does not keep his appreciation to himself. “He touches it and smells it, and then he tells his own sister, ‘Dekh kitni acchi khushbu aa rahi hai (Look, it smells so good).’”

The confession was enough to send Neha and Angad into fits of laughter.

Gauahar Khan also opened up about an awkward start to her relationship with Zaid Darbar. She recalled that when they first began talking, Zaid told her he was 24. The revelation made Gauahar uncomfortable, and she decided it was best to end the conversation.

But there was more to the story. Zaid later admitted that he had lied about his age because he had assumed Gauahar herself was younger. He eventually showed her his official documents, which confirmed that he was actually 29.

Gauahar was 35 at the time, making them six years apart. While the unexpected age reveal changed the tone of their initial interaction, it did not stop the two from getting to know each other.

In fact, things moved surprisingly fast between them. Within around a month of their conversations turning serious, Zaid had proposed marriage, setting the stage for a relationship that would soon lead to their wedding.

Gauahar and Zaid’s relationship began during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. Zaid first connected with Gauahar through Instagram, and what started as conversations soon developed into a relationship. Their six-year age difference also became a talking point at the time, with their families initially taking some time to come around to the relationship.

The couple got engaged in November 2020 and married in a nikah ceremony on December 25 that year. They welcomed their first child, son Zehaan, in May 2023. In September 2025, they became parents for the second time with the arrival of their younger son, Farwaan.

On the work front, Gauahar is awaiting the release of Ikroop, directed by Akram Hassa. The film features Mithila Palkar, Kumud Mishra, Swanand Kirkire and Taha Shah Badussha in key roles. While the release date has not yet been announced, the film is set to premiere on ZEE5.

Zaid, meanwhile, was last seen in Alliance. He did not make it to the finale, with Mini Mathur eventually taking home the trophy.
