Mohanlal’s highly anticipated 'Drishyam 3' cleared by censors with a U/A 13+ certificate ahead of its May 21 global release.

Thiruvananthapuram: The final chapter of the legendary Drishyam saga is ready for the big screen. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted a U/A 13+ certificate to the Mohanlal-starrer, clearing the way for its highly anticipated theatrical release on May 21, 2026.
Mohanlal took to Instagram on Thursday to confirm the news, sharing the official certification along with a new poster. "Drishyam 3 censored with U/A 13+ certificate. In Cinemas Worldwide from May 21, 2026," the actor wrote to his followers.
The recently released teaser has already set a somber tone for the sequel. It suggests a darker narrative for Georgekutty, who appears to be haunted by past decisions and the constant pressure of being watched. The 110-second preview features a gripping voiceover from Mohanlal, where he describes a simple family life interrupted when "an unwanted guest invaded the family, with the power to destroy them”.
In the teaser, Georgekutty candidly reflects on the lengths he has gone to in order to shield his family, while hints of a larger, more complex plan begin to surface. Fans also catch brief glimpses of his wife and daughters, whose lives remain central to the high-stakes drama.
Directed by Jeethu Joseph and produced by Antony Perumbavoor, production for the third instalment began in September 2025. The franchise, which started in 2013 and saw a massive digital success with its 2021 sequel, has become a global phenomenon, inspiring remakes in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and several international languages.
