Mohanlal turned a proud father on social media as he shared a heartfelt birthday note for his daughter Vismaya Mohanlal, who is preparing to make her debut in cinema with her upcoming film ‘Thudakkam’.
Taking to Instagram, Mohanlal shared a lovely picture of Vismaya, whom he fondly calls Maya. His message reflected both pride and affection as he spoke about her stepping into the film industry and chasing her dreams.

In his post, he wrote, “Happy Birthday dearest Mayakutty. This year marks a beautiful new beginning... new dreams taking shape and your journey into cinema unfolding.”

He went on to add, “So proud of the passion and courage you carry into everything you do. Here’s to a year where the world sees your light. Love, Acha @mayamohanlal.”

Vismaya’s journey so far

Vismaya is not entirely new to the creative space. She is already known as a writer and has authored a book titled ‘Grains of Stardust’. With ‘Thudakkam’, she is now ready to explore acting and follow in the footsteps of her brother Pranav Mohanlal, who has carved a solid space for himself in the Malayalam film industry.

About her debut film

‘Thudakkam’ is an upcoming Malayalam family drama, written and directed by Jude Anthany Joseph. The project is expected to mark a significant beginning for Vismaya on the big screen.

Mohanlal’s busy film slate

On the work front, Mohanlal recently revealed that ‘Drishyam 2’ will finally hit theatres on April 10, 2026, ahead of the release of ‘Drishyam 3’. The film had earlier missed a theatrical release during the pandemic.

Meanwhile, ‘Drishyam 3’ is slated to arrive in May this year. The crime thriller is directed by Jeethu Joseph and features Meena, Ansiba Hassan, and Esther Anil in key roles.

The actor was last seen in ‘Vrusshabha’, a fantasy action film directed by Nanda Kishore.
