Pranav Mohanlal has entered the ₹50 crore club for the third consecutive time, as his latest film Dies Irae, directed by Rahul Sadasivan, has crossed ₹50 crore at the global box office.

With this feat, Pranav becomes the second Malayalam actor to deliver three consecutive films with ₹50 crore collections. His previous films, Hridayam and Varshangalkku Shesham, directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, had also achieved this milestone.

Mohanlal, his father, was the first Malayalam actor to score a hat-trick of ₹50 crore films. In 2025, his films Hridayapoorvam, Empuraan, and Thudarum were massive box office successes. Empuraan and Thudarum went on to cross ₹200 crore in total collections. Mohanlal also holds the record for starring in the first-ever Malayalam film to enter the ₹50 crore club, with the 2013 blockbuster Drishyam.

Dies Irae has been received with overwhelming applause from audiences. The film witnessed highly positive reactions from its premiere show itself. It also stands out as director Rahul Sadasivan’s next major project after the acclaimed Bramayugam.

Shehnad Jalal, whose work in 'Bramayugam' came in for much critical acclaim, is the cameraman of the film. Similarly, art direction for the new film is by the art director of 'Bramayugam', Jothish Shankar. Editing is by Shafique Mohammed Ali. Ali had also worked as the editor of 'Bramayugam'.
