Mammootty’s crime thriller ‘Kalamkaval’ breaks pre-sale records in Kerala with ₹2.04 crore booked, marking a blockbuster opening on its release day.

The wait is finally over for Mammootty fans as the highly anticipated crime thriller ‘Kalamkaval’ has hit theatres on Friday. Directed by debutant Jithin, the film has already created a storm among audiences, recording impressive pre-sale collections that hint at a packed opening weekend.
According to the Forum Kerala Twitter page, the movie has raked in ₹2,03,84,724 in advance bookings from the Kerala box office alone. The figures come from 1,324 shows with 1,22,620 tickets sold, achieving an occupancy rate of 30.72%. This strong response from audiences positions Kalamkaval as one of the most eagerly awaited Malayalam releases of the year.
The excitement around the film is not limited to ticket sales. Mammootty took to social media ahead of the release, sharing a heartfelt message: “#Kalamkaval is all yours from tomorrow...”
Kalamkaval also makes a mark among the top pre-sale collections of 2025 in Kerala. While Mohanlal’s ‘Empuraan’ leads with ₹12.4 crore and ‘Thudarum’ sits at ₹2.3 crore, ‘Kalamkaval‘ has already secured ₹1.60 crore even before its official release. Its strong pre-sale performance underscores the film’s widespread anticipation among fans.
