Mohanlal’s much-anticipated collaboration with director Vishnu Mohan now has an official title. Previously referred to as L367, the film has been titled ‘Operation Ganga’, with the makers unveiling the first poster. Produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the Sree Gokulam Movies banner, the project brings together a prominent cast from Malayalam and Bollywood.

Mohanlal’s ‘Operation Ganga’ draws from India’s evacuation mission

Written and directed by Vishnu Mohan, ‘Operation Ganga’ is inspired by India’s large-scale evacuation mission during the Russia-Ukraine war. The film has already commenced production in Georgia, with Mohanlal expected to join the shoot shortly.

The film is scheduled to be shot across multiple international and Indian locations, including Poland, Georgia and Kazakhstan, along with Delhi, Dehradun and Kochi. The makers are reportedly planning an approximately 180-day shooting schedule for the ambitious project.

Arjun Rampal, Adil Hussain part of Mohanlal’s film

The cast of ‘Operation Ganga’ includes Bollywood actors Arjun Rampal, Adil Hussain and Bhagyashree Bhorse. Parthiban is also part of the ensemble.

The film has brought together an international technical crew. Cinematographer Miroslav Kuba Brozek, who has worked on ‘Pushpa’ and ‘Pushpa 2’, is behind the camera, while Shashwat Sachdev is composing the music. Action choreography is being handled by See Young Oh.

Production designer Rajeevan, editor Shameer Mohammed, sound designer Bishwadeep Chatterjee and VFX supervisor K V Sanjith are also part of the technical team. Squadron Leader Verlin Panwar serves as the military adviser, while Melvi J is handling costumes and Ronex Xavier is in charge of makeup.

With its international locations, extensive production schedule and ensemble cast, ‘Operation Ganga’ is being mounted as a major production by Sree Gokulam Movies. The banner’s upcoming slate also includes projects such as ‘Ottakomban’, ‘Kathanar’ and ‘Killer’.
