Yash’s 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups' collected Rs 36.40 crore on its second day after opening with Rs 101.10 crore, recording a drop of nearly 64 percent across languages in India.

Yash’s ''Toxic': A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups' saw a major drop at the box office on its second day, collecting Rs 36.40 crore net in India across languages on Thursday, according to Sacnilk. The film had opened to a massive Rs 101.10 crore net on day one, making the decline of nearly 64% difficult to overlook.
The Geetu Mohandas directorial had crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in India on its opening day, giving Yash his second Rs 100 crore opener after 'KGF Chapter 2'. However, the numbers on day two tell a different story, with the film losing a substantial portion of its opening-day momentum.
'Toxic' arrived with considerable expectations, particularly because of Yash’s return to the big screen after 'KGF Chapter 2'. But the action drama has received a divided response, and its second-day performance has now raised questions about how strongly it can sustain its run beyond the opening.

The film also trails 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge', or 'Dhurandhar 2', when it comes to its second-day box office performance. While the first 'Dhurandhar' had collected Rs 32 crore on its second day, its sequel reportedly earned Rs 80.72 crore on day two and reached Rs 226 crore within its first two days.
In comparison, 'Toxic' has seen a much steeper fall after its opening-day collection. The upcoming extended weekend could now be crucial for the film as it looks to stabilise its box office run. The Raksha Bandhan holiday in several parts of the country may bring in additional audiences, while the collections on Saturday and Sunday will offer a clearer picture of its theatrical hold.

At present, films including 'Dhurandhar 2', 'Border 2', 'Peddi', 'Jana Nayagan' and 'Karuppu' are among the biggest Indian box-office performers of the year. Whether 'Toxic' can recover from its sharp second-day drop and move closer to that group will depend largely on how it performs over the extended weekend.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, ''Toxic': A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups' stars Yash in a dual role as Raya and Ticket. The film also features Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth.
