Madharaasi, directed by A.R. Murugadoss and starring an ensemble cast led by Sivakarthikeyan, Rukmini Vasanth, Vidyut and Biju Menon, hit theatres worldwide to much fanfare on September 5.

Sivakarthikeyan, who has proved his mettle through vivid roles on the big screen, left an indelible mark on cinephiles with his immaculate portrayal of Major Mukund Varadarajan in Amaran, directed by Rakkumar Periasamy, in which he was paired opposite Sai Pallavi as Indhu Rebecca Varghese.

Cut to Madharaasi: an interesting aspect of the film is the presence of Malayalam actor Biju Menon — a brand unto himself in Mollywood — who is now winning hearts in Kollywood with his fine performance in Madharaasi.

Notably, A.R. Murugadoss, a celebrated filmmaker behind blockbusters such as Ghajini and Thuppakki, expressed his admiration for the versatile Malayalam actor during one of the launch events for Madharaasi.

Speaking about Biju Menon, Murugadoss said: “Ever since I saw Ayyappanum Koshiyum, I envisioned you as Prem in my film. I am addicted to your voice; while dubbing, you elevated the role to a whole new level,” the director candidly shared.

The anecdote is yet another example of the high regard in which film industry colleagues hold one another and a testament to the seamless creative collaboration that transcends boundaries.

Madharaasi is currently running in theatres.
