Director H Vinoth recently made subtle remarks that appeared to reference the ongoing controversy surrounding the censorship of his upcoming film Jana Nayagan, touted as Vijay’s final movie before entering politics. Speaking about the newly released film My Lord, directed by Raju Murugan and starring M Sasikumar and Chaithra Achar, Vinoth noted that the film examines political themes dating back thousands of years. He drew a comparison between the positive reception of My Lord and the delays his own film faced in receiving censorship clearance.

Referring to Sasikumar’s character in My Lord, Vinoth said, 'However, if I speak politics, nobody will come to save me,' in a conversation with Cinema Vikatan, highlighting the perceived lack of media support for his film amid the controversy. Although he did not explicitly name Jana Nayagan or the censorship issue, his comments have been widely interpreted as alluding to it.

The censorship delay had previously forced KVN Productions to postpone the film’s release from its original Pongal schedule. And now, the production house reportedly withdrew its case against the Censor Board, leaving the revising committee to decide on certification. Fans of Vijay have expressed support for Vinoth, criticising both the media and the board for the lack of backing. (With inputs from Agencies)
