‘Fahadh keeps telling me how even his father Fazil respects my work,” said Vadivelu.

It has been over a week since the Fahadh Faasil–Vadivelu starrer Maareesan hit theatres worldwide. Directed by Sudheesh Sankar, the film opened to largely positive reviews. It centres around themes of child abuse, Alzheimer’s disease, and vigilante justice.
Fahadh and Vadivelu reunite after Maamannan, once again offering audiences a mesmerising experience with their acting prowess. Sharing great rapport and camaraderie, the lead actors of Maareesan hold each other in high regard—a mutual respect that transcends the senior-junior divide.
In a recent conversation with JFW, as part of Maareesan’s promotions, Tamil film legend Vadivelu shed light on his relationship with pan-Indian sensation Fahadh Faasil.
“See, with Fahadh, he shows a lot of love and respect towards me. He keeps telling me how even his father (the legendary filmmaker Fazil) respects my work,” he shared—reflecting the deep admiration and love that often exists among film personalities across industries.
Talking further, Vadivelu said, “Fahadh Faasil is a miracle… I mean, we previously collaborated on Maamannan, but with Maareesan, we got to know each other a lot better, having spent great time together during the shoot.” The Malayalam superstar received rave praise from the veteran actor.
Vadivelu also made it a point to emphasise the story of Maareesan, which he said was of great quality.
Meanwhile, the film continues to run successfully in theatres, with the two titans hogging the limelight with their acting brilliance—in what could be described as a long-overdue road movie in South Indian cinema, but with a refreshing twist.
