A sexual harassment case has been registered against ‘Dhurandhar’ production designer Saini S Johray after a woman accused him of assault, wrongful confinement and harassment at a hotel in Chandigarh. According to India Today, Chandigarh Police filed an FIR following a complaint lodged by a New Delhi resident at the Sector-17 police station.

According to the complaint, the woman was studying at a government college when a faculty member forwarded her resume to the team of ‘Dhurandhar’. She was later hired as an assistant art director on September 2, 2025. The woman alleged that Johray introduced himself as her mentor on the film set and gradually gained her trust.

She further claimed that Johray invited her to the Taj Hotel in Chandigarh’s Sector 17 for a work-related discussion. However, upon reaching the venue, she allegedly found no other crew members present.

The complaint stated that Johray allegedly warned her not to tell anyone about the meeting, saying it could damage his reputation. The woman alleged that around 8.30 pm on September 10, 2025, he pressured her to consume alcohol and prepared a drink mixing wine and rum. She accused him of forcibly pulling her close and making unwelcome advances.

The woman further alleged that she later felt unwell and began vomiting in the bathroom, during which Johray continued touching her inappropriately. She also claimed that he forced her onto a bed and pressured her to stay in the hotel room overnight. According to her statement, she left the hotel the next day using a bike taxi.

The complainant alleged that she was sexually harassed, physically assaulted and wrongfully confined during the meeting. She also claimed that an intoxicating substance had been mixed into her drink, after which her condition deteriorated.

Police registered the case under Sections 74, 79, 123 and 126(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) after conducting a preliminary enquiry. The complaint was reportedly filed on April 20.

The woman also accused Johray of continuing to harass her after the incident by filing complaints against her, which she said caused mental distress.

Johray has not yet issued any public statement regarding the allegations. Chandigarh Police said an investigation is underway.
