Actress Ansiba Hassan quits AMMA executive committee citing character assassination and harassment by Tini Tom.

Actress Ansiba Hassan has alleged that persistent character assassination and lack of support from within the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) pushed her to step down from its executive committee.
Her remarks come days after AMMA confirmed that she had resigned from the post of joint secretary.
Ansiba said she had been enduring severe mental distress due to targeted rumours and hostile behaviour from fellow members and decided it was no longer possible to continue.
Accusations against Tini Tom
The actor claimed that Tini Tom and a few others in the organisation were responsible for creating a hostile environment for her.
She alleged that Tini Tom circulated stories accusing her of having illicit relationships with several people, adding that such rumours were meant to destroy her reputation.
The actress also said she was deeply shaken by what she called a communal slur used against her. According to her, Tini Tom told others she was a “jihadi” and even alleged that she tried to convert his driver to Islam. She questioned whether such narratives were being attached to her simply because of her name.
Clashes with Neena Kurup
The actor also referred to a disagreement with Neena Kurup, claiming that during a family event, Neena attempted to physically attack her. Ansiba stated that an executive committee member later filed a false police complaint against her, further worsening her situation within AMMA.
She added that Tini Tom had verbally abused Neena Kurup and had allegedly tried to hit her. Ansiba said she initially chose not to speak out to avoid damaging the organisation’s image or affecting her career, but felt the attacks had crossed all limits.
Ansiba said she had earlier sent a voice message to senior members explaining that Tini Tom’s behaviour was the main reason behind her resignation. She reiterated that she has no plans to pursue legal action despite the emotional burden these incidents caused.
AMMA’s official position
AMMA president Shwetha Menon has confirmed that the resignation was accepted after Ansiba informed the committee that she was unable to attend meetings regularly due to personal and professional commitments.
Shwetha said Ansiba had expressed her intention to step down on 21 February, and that the committee approved her request unanimously during an executive meeting.
She described the executive roles as voluntary positions and said Ansiba felt she could not continue actively.
