Actor Parvathy Thiruvothu has made it clear that she has no plans to return to the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), saying that her association with the organisation is now a closed chapter.

Parvathy said she knows where her energy, strength and intelligence need to be directed. Once she feels that a particular space is no longer beneficial, she believes it is best to move on.

“It is a closed chapter. I have a strong sense of self-preservation. I am very clear about where my energy, strength and intelligence need to go. Once I understand that something is not beneficial for me in a particular place, it ends there,” she said.

While she said she has not lost hope in the government, Parvathy stressed that she would rather see action than simply hear assurances.

“I still have hope in the government. I don’t believe in words. Whatever government comes to power, there are always many promises. But I will not believe in them unless I can clearly see that these rules are bringing visible changes to people’s lives,” she added.

Parvathy to play a police officer for the first time

Meanwhile, Parvathy is gearing up for the release of ‘Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar’, directed by Shahad. The film marks her first police role in a career that has now crossed two decades.

Produced by Arjun Selva under the banner of 11 Icons, the film is Shahad’s directorial follow-up to ‘Prakashan Parakkatte’ and ‘Anuragam’.

The thriller has a sizeable ensemble cast, including Parthiban, Mathew Thomas, Vinay Forrt, Sidharth Bharathan, Unnimaya, Azees Nedumangad, Jayashree Sivadas, Praveenkumar, Siraj and Niyas Backer.

Set against the backdrop of a police station, ‘Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar’ is an investigative thriller. The screenplay has been written jointly by PS Subramanian and Vijesh Thottingal.

‘Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar’ is scheduled to hit theatres on September 11.
