Kochi: Actor Ansiba Hassan has moved the Ernakulam Munsif Court seeking to be impleaded in the petition filed by actor Shwetha Menon, which led to a stay on the functioning of the ad hoc committee of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). The application was filed on Tuesday.

Ansiba has urged the court to review its earlier order and hear her side before taking a final decision.

Earlier, while considering Shweta Menon's petition, the Ernakulam Munsif Court had granted an interim stay on the functioning of AMMA's ad hoc committee. The court also permitted the committee headed by Shwetha Menon to continue functioning.

Meanwhile, there are indications that a section within AMMA has initiated efforts to revive the executive committee that had resigned, citing the Munsif Court's order. The governing committee led by Shwetha Menon is expected to convene a meeting soon.

Although Shwetha Menon had publicly announced her resignation to the media, she had reportedly not submitted a formal resignation letter. It is learnt that the proposed meeting will include all committee members except the four who officially tendered their resignations.

According to sources, the Shwetha Menon faction plans to convene the general body meeting, present the association's accounts, and conduct fresh elections.
