A new Salman Khan song has prompted an unlikely question in Reddit: what is a dance number like 'Teri Sexy Beauty' doing in a film about the Galwan Valley clash?
The actor dropped ‘Teri Sexy Beauty’ in the early hours of November 4, from his upcoming film ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace’. The song stars Salman and Chitrangda Singh, with Salman crooning alongside Muskaan and additional vocals by Sajid Khan.

He announced it with a cheeky caption: “Departure time 5:12 am…. Flight on time , 2 pegs down taking off with my sexy beauty… pata nahi kahaan mai land karoon #TeriSexyBeauty Out Now”

The big question: Why is this in a war film?

The film, earlier titled Battle of Galwan, is inspired by the June 2020 Galwan Valley clash, in which 20 Indian Army personnel, including Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, lost their lives. Salman plays an Army officer, with Chitrangda as his wife. So a red-saree romance with a couple of drinks and lyrics like “Teri sexy beauty ka fan ban gaya hoon, main do peg pee ke aeroplane ban gaya hoon” understandably raised eyebrows.

Over on Reddit, that was the dominant mood. One user asked: “what is even the purpose of this? it’s such a strange choice for even a post credit song.”

Another cut straight to the point: “lol what is going on? Isn’t this a war movie?”

A third wondered the same thing, with a theory attached: “I am sorry but I really loved the vibe of the song but the question is why this song is in matrabhumi ??? I guess they’re just showing that they aren’t taking the movie seriously anymore, after all those cuts”

‘Why is Salman Singing himself?’

Salman’s return to playback singing didn’t exactly get a warm welcome. “why is salman khan singing the song himself??” asked one user, while another summed up the experience as “Bruh this feels like a fever dream.”

One user compared it to something far less cinematic: “seems like when shinchan used to sing some song”

Lyrics under the microscope

The lyrics took a beating. “Wth are these lyrics... its just bunch of lines clubbed together,” wrote one commenter. On X, one user went further, dubbing them “ChatGPT lyrics.”

Then came the funniest take of the bunch: “It’s like a last minute assignment submission lol, 12 baje banane baithe aur 5 baje upload kardiya”

The video gets roasted too

If the lyrics were bad, the visuals fared no better. “The video looked like a B Grade movie itself. The less said about the singing, lyrics and choreo the better,” one user wrote.

One especially brutal comment tore into nearly everything:

“Cringe is written in bold letters all over this song. Most of the regional music videos are far better than this garbage served by Solman Bhoi. The cheap-looking red saree and red blouse look so poverty-stricken. AI-generated face of Salman Khan when he is dancing with his buddies. Pathetic music and lyrics. I know for sure Salman wrote these lyrics and composed the music at 2 am after multiple rounds of alcohol. This man has lost it, and the sad part is that his family supports this childish and crass behaviour of Salman. Even Salman’s fans will reject this low-grade garbage.”

The retirement chorus

Some fans think it’s time for Bhai to hang up the boots.

“Bhai should seriously consider retirement now before it’s too late to save his legacy,” one Redditor wrote.

Another added: “Cheap, Cringe & Embarrassing. Bhoi, Please accept your age and retire. If you want to work, then follow Amitabh Bachchan’s footsteps or do character roles. Spare us the horror. Can’t take this anymore .”
Others were less formal. “Bhoi having old age crisis,” said one.
“Humiliation ritual,” said another.
“What is going on with his career??” asked a third, in what may be the most question marks ever used in one comment.

One more wryly noted: “Bhoi keeps giving to the brainrot and meme community”

Over on X, it’s the same story

The criticism wasn’t limited to Reddit. On X, one user wrote: “A film based on Col. Santosh Babu & 19 soldiers beaten to death in Galwan and Salman’s tribute is ‘Teri sexy beauty ka fan ho gaya hu, 2 peg peeke talli ho gaya hu.’ How can anyone even think of putting a song like this in a patriotic film. He has zero respect for real martyrs.”
One netizen lamented that the film’s title, script and songs seem to have changed along the way, with a romantic number now replacing what audiences expected from a film about soldiers. Another wrote: “Salmon bhai ruining his own legacy.....”

A particularly pointed message urged the star to retire: “Salman Khan, if you don’t want to work properly like you did before 2016, just retire. Please, don’t destroy what’s left of your reputation! Don’t you see, notice, or listen to what you’re actually doing?”

Fans aren’t all grounded

To be fair, the song does have its defenders. Some fans have come out in support of Salman, praising the catchy tune and celebrating his return to singing after 11 years.
