Vijay Deverakonda has come out in support of wife Rashmika Mandanna following the massive online backlash surrounding their ‘Koffee With Karan’ Season 9 appearance. Responding to the controversy, the actor shared a strongly worded statement declaring that the couple are “gloriously happy” and have no intention of letting online criticism affect their relationship.

In a post addressing the public scrutiny, Vijay called Rashmika his best friend, wife and woman, describing their relationship as one of the best decisions of his life. He also made it clear that he was standing firmly by her side, even if that meant going against public opinion.

“My best friend, my wife, my woman. One of the most beautiful parts of my life that I got absolutely right ❤️,” he wrote.

The actor added that the couple were happy together and that he felt fortunate to have her in his life.

“For all those concerned, We are both gloriously happy. I am blessed,” he said.

Vijay Deverakonda’s blunt response to trolls

Vijay did not stop at expressing his love for Rashmika. Addressing the criticism surrounding their relationship, the actor made it clear that he was prepared to stand by his wife regardless of the backlash.

“If its me and her against the world - so be it ❤️,” he wrote.

The actor then ended his statement with an unfiltered message to those who continued to criticise the couple.

“Now, with absolutely no intended kindness or respect, everyone else can go fuck themselves. :))”

He signed off using his full name, Deverakonda Vijay Sai.

Rashmika Mandanna calls out online trolling

Vijay’s statement comes after Rashmika issued a lengthy response to the criticism surrounding their appearance on ‘Koffee With Karan’ Season 9. The actress addressed the debate over their marriage, particularly the conversation in which she said she had brought up the subject with Vijay over a period of time.

Rashmika clarified that the discussion was never about repeatedly asking for a proposal. Instead, she explained that the couple wanted time to understand each other and ensure they were ready to build a future together.

“It’s okay that I knew exactly what I wanted. And it was equally okay that he wanted time to think through the practical things in life and be sure,” she wrote.

She also defended her affection for Vijay, saying she would choose him repeatedly and questioning why being openly in love with her husband had become a problem.

“I would do it a thousand times - 100 is nothing. It’s really that simple,” Rashmika added.

The actress also hit back at people offering unsolicited relationship advice, saying that those questioning their marriage had not been present during the difficult moments of her life.

“When I snap a bone, you aren’t there. He is. When my stomach hurts every month, you aren’t there. He is,” she wrote.

One of the strongest lines in her statement was directed at people who, she felt, were using feminism to justify their criticism of her personal choices.

“Bitch about me all you want. I can take it. But talking about my family without knowing them? That’s not feminism. That’s bullying dressed up as feminism,” she said.

Rashmika and Vijay’s relationship under scrutiny

The couple’s appearance on Karan Johar’s chat show sparked widespread discussion online, with viewers dissecting their comments about marriage and their relationship dynamics. Vijay’s recollection of asking Rashmika to bring up marriage 100 times before he agreed became a particular talking point, with some social media users questioning the dynamic between the two.

Rashmika’s statement sought to clarify the context behind that conversation and reaffirm that the couple had made their decision together. Vijay’s response has now reinforced the same message: that they are happy with their choices and do not feel the need to justify their relationship to strangers.

The actors, who previously starred together in ‘Geetha Govindam’ and ‘Dear Comrade’, recently reunited on screen in ‘Ranabaali’, directed by Rahul Sankrityan and released in theatres on October 16, 2026.

With both actors now addressing the backlash directly, their message is clear: they intend to stand by each other despite the noise surrounding their personal lives.
