Steps to start a chat using a WhatsApp Username
- Open WhatsApp and go to the Chats tab
- Tap New Chat
- Select the Search bar
- Type the person's exact username
- Tap their profile when it appears
- If they have enabled a username key, enter the key and tap Enter
- Your chat will open, showing their username and display name. If you haven't saved their phone number, it won't be visible.
