The Transport Department has prompted all vehicle owners and driving licence (DL) holders to update their mobile numbers in the official Vahan (for vehicles) and Sarathi (for licences) databases. This directive was issued following instructions from the Transport Commissioner.

Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Chhavi Singh Chauhan explained that when mobile numbers are not updated, important messages—such as service alerts and legal notices- fail to reach vehicle owners and licence holders on time. Citizens are therefore advised to immediately link their Aadhaar-authenticated mobile number to these databases.
