
National Institute of Technology (NIT), Calicut has invited applications from eligible Students for Internship during summer vacation 2025 or Project Internship in various Laboratories at NIT Calicut.
The Summer Internship Programme (SIP) will be offered for a period of 30/60 days during the summer vacation between May 1 - July 10, 2025, in line with the academic calendar of NITC. Selected candidates may be permitted to do projects using the specific laboratory facilities in certain departments. Eligibility: Only regular full-time students with no back papers and no disciplinary action from the parent institute and who are completing the Second/Third year (or Fourth/Sixth Semester) B.Tech. / BE, or Fourth/Sixth/Eighth Semester of B. Arch. and students completing the First Year (or Second Semester) of MTech./ ME/ M.Sc./M. Plan/MBA, having a CGPA not less than 6.5 (out of 10) or an aggregate mark, not less than 65%, up to and including the last Semester (for which results are published so far) are eligible to apply.

Application: Applications are to be submitted online at the link provided at the Program link at https://placement.nitc.ac.in (Summer Internship link) with the necessary information and documents by 5 pm on 26th March 2025 (Wednesday). Registration fee of Rs. 118/- has to be paid at the time of registration.
Selection: The selection of Interns will be done by the respective departments of NITC based on various parameters but not limited to: (i) Academic performance in university examinations (CGPA / percentage of marks) (ii) Paper presented if any at conferences/ workshops, projects already executed/completed (iii) Academic/co-curricular contests participated and other awards/distinctions obtained (iv) Performance during a personal interview conducted (if any).
Scrutiny of applications/ Selection process by the respective department will be done during April 01-08, 2025. Candidate may be called for an Interview (if any) by the respective department between March 26 - April 08, 2025. Selection intimation by CCD will be made during April 09-16, 2025. SIP will be between May 1 and July 09, 2025.

Candidates selected for Internship will be assigned to a Regular Faculty as Mentor or Supervisor. All the cost of Consumables/Chemicals, other charges and contingency costs if any for the completion of the Internship project/work shall be completely taken by the Intern. No amount shall be sanctioned from the Department/NIT Calicut.
SIP Fee (payable after the selection confirmation) for (i) 2-Month Internship will be Rs. 5900/- and (ii) for 1-Month Internship will be Rs. 3540/-
NIT Calicut will not provide any financial assistance to the Interns. Funding, if any, will be met from the project fund of the mentor faculty. The Interns will have to meet the expenses for their travel, accommodation and food on their own. Shared accommodation may be provided to the Interns in NITC Hostels and food from the Student mess, if available. This will be on a payment basis to be paid by the Interns. Temporary ID Cards will be issued to the Interns. The Interns will be provided access to the Central Library (for reference only), Digital Library, and the Central Computer Centre of NITC.
Upon completion of the Summer Internship programme, the intern has to submit a brief report of the work done by him/her to the mentor faculty. Only after the receipt of the report, CCD will recommend for an Internship Completion Certificate which will be issued as an E-Certificate. The Student has to give a Presentation about the work done in front of the mentor/supervisor and panel of evaluators in the respective Department/Institute level Committee (if any). Upon completion of the Internship, the Student is expected to come up with a tangible contribution / innovation such as a novel product/design/concept/ software/tool/experimental set-up, which in turn can lead to a patent or publication.
