Odisha: The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar has announced its Summer Internship Programme 2025 for undergraduate and postgraduate students pursuing science-related degrees. The programme, offered by the School of Mathematical Sciences (SMS) and the School of Physical Sciences (SPS), provides hands-on research experience under the guidance of NISER faculty.

The SMS internship will be conducted from May 16 to July 25, 2025, while the SPS internship will run from May 22 to July 21, 2025. Selected students will work on short-term research projects and, in the case of the SPS programme, also participate in seminars, research facility visits, and night sky observations.

Students enrolled in recognised universities and institutions are eligible to apply, though those who have previously availed of this internship at NISER will not be considered. Applicants must submit their forms to a specific faculty (Principal Investigator, PI) and can apply separately for multiple PIs. For SMS, applications must be emailed along with a Bonafide-Cum-No Objection Certificate in a single PDF file by March 31, 2025. For SPS, applications must be submitted via a Google form on the official NISER website by April 25, 2025. The list of selected SPS candidates will be announced in the second week of May 2025.

Students not receiving financial support from any other sources may be eligible for a stipend of ₹5,000 per month (for SPS) and travel support via Second-Class Sleeper train fare. Hostel accommodation may be available on a chargeable basis.

Upon successful completion, interns will receive a Project Completion Certificate. Any intellectual property generated during the internship will remain under NISER's ownership. Interns are expected to maintain discipline, follow institute guidelines, and use facilities strictly for research purposes.
