Prof. Apoorva Khare of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, will deliver the keynote lecture at the 18th international Math Ecstasy webinar organised by Maths Aspirants on August 15, 2026.

The webinar, scheduled for 7 pm IST, will focus on 'A Crowd-Sourced, Computer-Assisted Analysis-Definition of Abelian Groups'. The session will explore how algebra, analysis, geometry and computational methods can come together to understand mathematical problems.

Prof. Khare, who received the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize in Mathematical Sciences in 2022, will also discuss collaborative mathematical research associated with the Polymath Project.

The online session is open to students, teachers, researchers and mathematics enthusiasts, with free participation. Maths Aspirants has been organising mathematics-focused webinars and discussions since 2017.

Prof. Apoorva Khare is a mathematician at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. He is known for his work in mathematical sciences and was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize in Mathematical Sciences in 2022, one of India's major science honours. At the upcoming Math Ecstasy webinar, he will speak on the study of Abelian groups and the intersection of algebra, analysis, geometry and computational methods.
