National Testing Agency (NTA) has invited applications for the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Entrance Examination for admission to Bachelor’s and Master’s Programmes at the Institute for 2025-26.

NIFT Centres are located at Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Daman, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kannur, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Raebareli, Patna, Panchkula, Shillong, Kangra, Jodhpur, Bhubaneswar, Srinagar and Varanasi.

Regular UG Programmes include -Bachelor of Design (B.Des.), Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech.) & PG Programmes include Master of Design (M.Des.), Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M.), Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech.). 

For admission to Bachelor of Design (B.Des) Programmes in Fashion Communication, Accessory Design, Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, Leather Design, Textile Design, Fashion Interiors, applicant should have passed a recognised Plus 2 level examination/equivalent or should have a pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects or passed recognised 3 or 4 years Diploma.

For admission to Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F. Tech) Apparel Production Programme, applicant should have passed a recognised Plus 2 level examination/equivalent with Mathematics or should have a pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects including Mathematics or passed recognised 3 or 4 years Engineering Diploma.

Educational Qualification for admission to Master of Design (M.Des), Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M) and of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech) are given in the Information Bulletin 2025 available at https://exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT/

Age limit: For Bachelor’s Programmes (B.Des & B.F.Tech), the upper age limit is 24 years as on 1.8.2025 (Relaxed by five years for candidates of SC/ST/PWD categories). For Master’s Programmes (M.Des, M.F.M and M.F.Tech), there is no age limit.

Selection to the Programs will be based on Entrance Examinations to be held on 9th February, 2025 (Sunday). For admission to B.Des. there will be a General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT). Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the entrance examination will take a Situation Test. For admission to B.F.Tech, candidates have to appear for General Ability Test (GAT). GAT will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) while CAT will be a Paper Based Test (PBT).

Application: Application can be submitted online at https://exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT/ or through https://www.nift.ac.in/admission latest by 6.1.2025. Those appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.

Application Fee is Rs. 3000/- (Rs. 1500/- for SC/ ST/ PWD Category) for one Program at the UG or PG Levels. Those applying for B.Des and B.F.Tech or for 2 PG Programs have to pay a fee of Rs. 4500/-/ Rs. 2250/- respectively. The fee can be paid online through payment gateway, using debit/credit cards or internet banking.

Application can be submitted with late fees of Rs. 5000/- in addition to the Normal fee, from 07.01.2025 to 09.01.2025. 

Correction can be made in the Particulars of Application Form online, during 10.01.2025 to 12.01.2025.

Last date for Online Registration for (i) Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) - Artisan Category is 28 February 2025 (ii) for UG / PG Programmes under NRI/Foreign National/OCI/PIO/SAARC category is 30 April 2025 and (iii) for Ph.D. Programme is 28 February 2025.
