National Book Trust, India, Ministry of Education, Government of India; has invited applications for admission to the Certificate Course in Book Publishing, of six weeks’ duration to be held from 2 September 2024 to 11 October 2024. 

This is a comprehensive course in book publishing with Training by experts and major practitioners from the book industry aimed at creating a pool of trained professionals for the publishing industry.

Classes will be held from Monday to Friday from 11 am to 5 pm. There will be around 100 sessions in 30 days. Each session will be of the duration of one hour fifteen minutes. 

The course will be held at National Book Trust, India 5 Institutional Area, Phase II, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi-110070 

Project and Internship: The successful completion of the course will include project work and an internship at a publishing house by the participant. The results will be based on internal assessment, attendance, project work, and internship. Internships are to be done before 30 November 2024 in any publishing house anywhere in the country. Study/Practical projects like creating a dummy book, a study on an area of Book Publishing, and a business plan for a book/publishing house, design projects etc; are to be submitted before 30 November 2024. The course will not be completed without the submission of the Projects; however, the internship is not mandatory. 

Eligibility: The course is open to graduates and above who are directly or indirectly related to the publishing industry and are inclined to learn how to make a career in the field. 

Admission will be made on the basis of Statement of Purpose and proof of applicant’s inclination to Book Publishing. 

The course fee is Rs. 15,000/- + 18% GST. This can be paid online as per the details in the Notification at https://www.nbtindia.gov.in/

Applicants should attach copies of degree certificate, proof of address and date of birth. The transaction id of payment, the account holder's name, bank and branch should be mentioned in the application. 

If any applicant fails to get admission the course fee will be refunded. 

Certificate: A certificate of participation shall be given to the participants, who successfully complete the course including the Project work. No certificates will be issued to the students who do not submit the Project.
