Skoda Auto India has launched a new variant of its popular Kodiaq SUV, the Lounge 5-seater. The Lounge variant carries a host of features and design tweaks that set it apart from other trims.

The new Lounge variant comes equipped with distinctive 18-inch Mazeno alloy wheels featuring a silver finish, coupled with matte Unique Dark Chrome accents on the exterior. Available in three elegant colour options, Moon White, Magic Black, and Graphite Grey, it presents a fitting silhouette of sophistication and style.
Inside, the cabin flaunts Grey Suedia fabric upholstery and a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, diverging from the leather seats and three-spoke wheels offered in higher trims. The five-seat layout means increased boot space too, expanding from the usual 281 litres to a substantial 786 litres, perfect for those needing extra cargo without sacrificing luxury.
Tech and Comfort Amenities
The Lounge’s tech package includes a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, wireless charging, rear sun blinds, cruise control, and multiple USB ports. Although the infotainment screen is smaller than the 12.9-inch system in top-tier trims, it remains intuitive and well-featured for modern-day convenience.
Performance and Safety Features
Powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine churning out 201 bhp and 320 Nm of torque, the Lounge pairs the engine with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. It delivers a confident and smooth driving experience suitable for urban commutes and highway journeys alike.
On the safety front, the variant retains nine airbags and critical safety aids, including ABS, electronic stability control, and hill descent control, maintaining the high standards expected from Skoda’s flagship SUV lineup.
Trade-Offs and Value Proposition
To achieve a competitive price point, Skoda has omitted certain premium features from the Lounge compared to higher trims. Missing are driver drowsiness detection, 360-degree camera, gesture-operated tailgate, intelligent park assist, and the Canton premium sound system. However, the Lounge remains well-equipped for buyers seeking a balance of luxury, space, and safety in a variant tailored for comfort and utility.
Pricing Details
Priced attractively at Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Skoda Kodiaq Lounge 5-seater sits below the Sportline at Rs 43.76 lakh and the premium Laurin & Klement edition at Rs 45.96 lakh. This strategy positions the Lounge as a strong value proposition in India’s luxury midsize SUV market.
