Citroen has officially launched its much-anticipated Basalt X SUV-coupe in the Indian market, with prices ranging from Rs 7.95 lakh (for NA Petrol MT variant) to Rs 12.9 lakh (Turbo-Petrol AT variant). The new launch introduces several key features and a more competitive price point for the top-end variant.

The Basalt X is offered with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. This turbocharged unit produces 108 bhp.

The Basalt model line also includes a naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine option, which generates 81 bhp and is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

While the exterior remains largely unchanged from the concept model, the Basalt X is distinguished by an exclusive 'X' badge on its tailgate.

The top-spec Max variant receives notable feature upgrades, including a new dashboard with a sleek pattern, tan-and-black upholstery, and bronze-colored trim inserts.

A key highlight is the Citroen Cara, an in-car conversational assistant that provides drivers with vehicle health status, real-time flight tracking, and emergency assistance.

For enhanced comfort, the second-row seats now feature a 'Brown Marse' interior theme with winged headrests and smart tilt cushions.

Depending on the variant, the Basalt also comes equipped with a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, and a push-start system.

Safety has been a priority, with the Basalt featuring a cruise control system with a segment-first speed limiter.

Standard safety equipment includes six airbags, a perimetric alarm, rear parking sensors, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Additionally, a Halo 360-degree camera is available as an optional extra for Rs 25,000.
