Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has officially launched two premium electric SUVs, the VF6 and VF7, in India. Both SUVs are locally assembled at VinFast’s facility in Tamil Nadu as part of VinFast's push into the rapidly growing Indian EV market.

VinFast VF6: Compact Urban EV

Positioned as a compact and stylish urban electric SUV, the VF6 starts at Rs 16.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It is designed for city driving, featuring modern connected car technology, efficient battery performance, and a practical interior with quality materials. The VF6 aims to attract urban buyers who want a tech-savvy, efficient, and compact electric vehicle.

VinFast VF7: Mid-Size Premium SUV

The VF7 is VinFast’s flagship mid-size electric SUV for the Indian market, starting at Rs 20.89 lakh. It offers a more powerful driving experience with a choice of single and dual-motor powertrains, all-wheel-drive variants, and a driving range of up to 496 km on a single charge. The VF7 features a futuristic exterior with distinctive LED lighting, flush door handles, and a panoramic glass roof.

Performance and Range

VF6: Compact battery options and powertrains optimised for city and short-range driving, and is powered by a 59.6Kwh battery.

VF7: Powered by a 70.8 kWh battery pack with power options up to 354 bhp and 496 km range, including AWD variants enabling 0-100 kmph in 5.8 seconds.

Interiors and Features

Both models boast minimalist yet premium cabins with vegan leather upholstery, large touchscreen infotainment systems supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and connected car functionalities. The VF7 includes advanced features like a heads-up display, ventilated seats, and Level-2 ADAS for enhanced safety.

Safety and Driver Assistance

VinFast has equipped these SUVs with multiple airbags, 360-degree cameras, rain-sensing wipers, and advanced driver-assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, lane centring, and emergency braking.

Market Strategy and Availability

VinFast aims to rapidly expand its dealership and service network across India with these launches. The VF6 and VF7 are intended to cover a broad spectrum of consumers — from urban commuters seeking efficiency to premium segment buyers desiring performance and style.
